Textbroker.com, Scam or Legit? – Should You Join?

TextbrokerWhether you are a freelance writer looking to make some money online or if you have a website and are looking for someone to write content for your site, Textbroker is one of the options out there for you. But should you join this site? Or will Textbroker.com scam you?

I own a few websites and writing unique content consists of 99% of my time. So when I came across this site I knew I had to look into it a little more and write this review on it. In this review I’ll be going over who this place is for, how it works,

Textbroker Overview

Textbroker is an online content platform that connects people looking for content with those looking to create content. There are a lot of people out there that have websites that need quality content for SEO purposes and there are a lot of freelancers out there looking to make a buck writing this content, Textbroker connects them.

How It Works

*I’ll be going over how it works for both clients and writers

If you apply as a writer you will be asked to submit a sample article for them to assess your writing ability. It can take a couple of weeks for them to go over this article and you will receive a rank based on how good you are. This is very important and I would put some time into this article if I were you because your pay will be based on your rank.

Clients that are looking to buy content will then be able to choose to hire writers by their rank. They will describe what type of content they are looking for, how fast they need the content, and the rank of writer they are looking for.

After the article is written and the client accepts it, the writer gets paid. But as a write you won’t actually get the money just yet. It will go into your Textbroker account and you won’t be able to withdrawal it until you have $10+ in your account.

How Much Money Can You Make/ How Much Does It Cost

If you are a writer of course you are interested in how much money you can make. You want to make as much as possible right? And if you are a client then you are interested in how much ordering content is going to cost. You want it to be as cheap as possible.

Well here are the going rates depending on the rank of writer you are or the rank of writer that you hire…

As you can see the amount of money really varies with the quality, as it should. A 2 star writer is only going to get paid 1.3 cents per word and a 5 star writer is going to get paid 7.2 cents per word.

There is a big difference from 4 to 5 star in the amount paid. There aren’t going to be many clients that are hiring 5 star writers for this reason and there also won’t be many writers that actually qualify as a 5 star writer.

Complaints

Rating System

Writers’ ratings are based on the last 5 ratings given to them by clients. Clients also receive ratings from writers the same way. This can be both good and bad. Its good because if you mess up and get a bad rating you don’t have to wait long to get that rating back up. But its bad because if you have a client that disapproves of your work then they can really destroy your rating and pay for a short period of time to come.

Content Quality

I have read more than one complaint about the quality of content not matching the rating. What I mean by this is that some clients will hire say a 3 star writer, but they complain because they feel the content received was only worthy of 2 stars.

Only US Citizens

In order to write for Textbroker you have to be a US citizen. You can still work from anywhere in the world but you must be a citizen. I don’t really know what the purpose of this requirement is but this is just how it is.

Only English Writers

If you don’t speak English then you are out of luck here. But if you are client looking for a non-English article then you are in luck. They offer translation services in 15 languages.

Conclusion on Textbroker – Should You Join?

Textbroker is a decent content platform and in no way a scam. Whether you are looking for content or looking to make some money writing this place isn’t a bad choice. Some other places that you may want to look into are Crowd Content & freelance sites like Upwork.

I would also suggest considering starting your own blog site if you are a writer looking to make money. This is what I do and I make a living doing it. Freelance writing can be a good way to start out because you can start making money right away but having your owns blog-style websites is more lucrative in the long run.

If you are interested in creating your own sites and earning money on your own terms then I suggest checking out this program. I joined in 2015 knowing nothing at all, but the training/ tools that are provided got me to where I am not.

Is Data Dollars Pro a Scam? – My Review

Data Dollars ProIf you are looking to buy into I urge you to take a minute and read my review. This program isn’t exactly as great and amazing as it may sound. And its no wonder you took the time to do a little extra research. The bold claims made by this program are enough to make anyone suspicious of it.

Is Data Dollars Pro a scam? I would not say it is entirely a scam but it is somewhat of one. And what I mean by this is that it does provide some value to you but it is not nearly as great as they make it seem, like I said. In this short post I’ll be going over the truth of the matter here and give you a better idea of what you may be getting yourself into.

Data Dollars Pro Overview

Data Dollars Pro reviewI know I’ve been calling this a program but that is a little over the top. Data Dollars Pro is just an ebook that teaches people about freelance writing for the most part.

It is very long, close to 100 pages I believe. Basically what you are looking at here is a book that will give you tips, refer you to other sites that provide training and tools, and gives you information and advice on using freelance sites.

Freelance typing is a great work area to get into, don’t get me wrong. Its a growing field and honestly I see it growing for a while into the future. But will Data Dollars Pro give you the push that you need to start making good money in this field? The answer is no it will not. You cannot trust this place at all and it was made for nothing more than to make money by deceiving people and leading them on with false hope.

Some Lies You Should Be Aware Of

Everyone wants proof of the lies so I’m going to give you proof. Do you remember some of the people that Jenny (the spokesperson) mentioned? The people that used Data Dollars Pro and are now making a lot of money typing online?

There was Sarah, who she claims averages around $275/day and only works 2-3 hours a day.  Are you kidding me? That’s around $100 per hour! And then there was Adrian who used to work at Walmart and now makes $5,500 per month typing online. And then there was some other people.

But the problem here is that all these people are as fake as can be. They are made up. Here is a screenshot of “Sarah”…

And here is the picture of here on DepositPhotos, which is a stock photo site that anyone can buy this photo from and use it online…

This is just one example, but all of these people are fake and made up.

The Good & The Bad

There really isn’t too much good about this program. It does give some good advice but it is nothing special that you can’t find easily just searching around on Google. I don’t think this program was even made by an expert in the field. It was more than likely thrown together by an amateur online marketer just trying to make some money.

It doesn’t provide you with much. Its not like it actually hooks you up with high paying typing jobs as it leads you to believe. Instead it just gives you advice of where to go and how to get the jobs. All the work is on you.

One of the good things about this program is that it is sold on ClickBank. This is a trusted digital marketplace and the good thing is that you can get your money back pretty easily if you decide you don’t like the product and feel you were ripped off.

Conclusion & Final Thoughts

Freelance writing can be a very lucrative and good job to have but it is not easy to get into. There is a heck of a lot of competition and this program sure as heck isn’t going to give you much of an advantage. I would not recommend this program at all because I just don’t think there is enough value provided here. It is only $37 but still… its just nothing great.

There are a lot better freelance typing training programs out there. I know that there is a pretty good course called Write Your Way To 1K by Elna Cain, if you are interested in that. It has a lot of good reviews and is made to actually help people.

Something else that I would recommend is taking a look at how I make a living online. I make small blog-type websites like this and 99% of what I do consists of typing. It would be right up your alley and I think you might like it since you were looking into online typing jobs.

I’ve been doing this since 2015 and really enjoy it. If you are interested in learning more you can read a post I wrote Here where I go over what exactly I do, how it all works, and how people with no experience can get started doing the same.

Best Freelance Writing Jobs for Beginners – My Advice

best freelance writing jobs for beginnersStarting out as a freelance writer can be difficult. But there are so many opportunities in front of you that you are probably unaware of. The job market for freelance writing is continuing to grow and honestly I see it growing more and more in the future with the way things are looking.

In this short post I’ll be going over some examples of what I consider to be the best freelance writing jobs for beginners. None of them are going to be an easy path to take, they will all require work and dedication. But where there is a will there is a way.

Content Mill Jobs

Content mills get a really bad reputation for the low amounts that they pay writers and for the low quality content that comes out of them. But they have their own place in this online world and can be of help to aspiring freelance writers.

Basically content mills are just a middleman that pays writers for writing various types of works based on the quality and word count. They usually will pay you somewhere in the 1-5 cents per word range but that varies.

Its not great for pay but what it is great for is gaining a little experience and getting some of the writing practice that you will need in this line of work. It is also great because places like this are extremely easy to get work in and just about anyone should be able to join sites like this.

Some examples of popular content mills include…

Freelance Sites

Similar to content mills are freelance sites. These places also are platforms that connect freelancers with clients, but with freelance sites you are able to market yourself more to buyers and have more control over pay, jobs, etc.

People make pretty good money freelancing on freelance sites but it is also more difficult to start out as a beginner on these sites. There is a lot of competition form people that have experience and a reputation and you can’t expect to come in and just get a bunch of jobs.

One of the best freelance sites that I think is available for beginners is Fiverr, which I will go over a bit more.

Fiverr

Fiverr is a good place for freelancers to get writing jobs. If you are unfamiliar with this place at all basically it is a marketplace where freelancers of all kinds can set up Seller profiles and market their skills. It is a commonly used marketplace for individuals and small online business owners to pay professionals to design logos, create videos, and write all sorts of things including…

  • blog posts
  • cover letters
  • resumes
  • articles

and a lot of other things.

When you start out as a seller on Fiverr your work will be sold for $5… hence the name “Five”rr. After getting 20 gigs under your belt you will then be able to charge clients on “extras” which is where the real money comes in.

When starting out you will barely make anything for your time but as you move forward, build credibility and a reputation, and start to charge for extras you can make decent money.

Another Option

Another avenue that you may want to consider is working for yourself instead of for clients. What I mean by this is why not write for yourself? That is why I do and I really enjoy it.

Basically what I do is create small blog-style websites (like this one) write articles/blog posts, get traffic from search engines by using SEO (search engine optimization), and promote relevant products and services.

I wrote an entire post on what exactly I do, how it all works out, and how beginners looking to get started can do so.

I’m just throwing this out there because if you are looking for a freelance writing job this would be right up your alley.

Final Thoughts

Freelance writing has a good outlook for the foreseeable future. There is a lot of demand for freelance writers and plenty of opportunity out there.

Content mills are going to be easier to get writing jobs for but you more than likely won’t make much at all. Working through a freelance site like Fiverr, Upwork, etc.. you can make more money but it is also more difficult to get a start. But once you do and build up your reputation you will likely develop relationships with clients where you could possibly move away from the freelance site altogether and do business directly with buyers.

Another avenue you could go down would just be to create your own website and make money on your own, which is what I do. This is great because anyone can do it and you don’t need to get “hired”, but the downside is you won’t make money right away.

Oh and one more thing you might want to look into is a course called Write Your Way To 1K. Its a training course for aspiring freelance writers that was created by Elna Cain, who is a professional blogger. I have never used this course or anything but I know it gets a lot of good reviews.

Write To 1K Review – Is It a Scam or Legit?

Write Your Way to Your First $1kLooking to take the Write Your Way To 1K course? I have been getting questions on the legitimacy of this course and whether or not its any good so I decided to take a look into it more.

Overall I like what I see from the outside. This course isn’t overly hyped. Its not telling you that its going to make you rich with little to no effort or anything like that. Everything seems realistic and legit but things aren’t always as they appear. In this Write To 1K review I’ll be going over what this course is all about, what it provides, and whether or not I think it is worth paying for.

Write Your Way To 1K Overview

The Write Your Way To 1K course (Website Here) was created by Elna Cain to help other aspiring freelance writers follow their dreams and be able to write for a living.

Overall this course is pretty good and much better than some of the alternatives like Barefoot Writer Club.

Elna was in the same place that much other people are that are looking to become writers. She was working a job she hated and looking for a way to make it out. Eventually she got to the point where she could quit her job and work as a writer for a living. Along the way she learned a lot and this knowledge has been put into teachings in this course.

Should You Trust Elna?

If you are wondering if you should trust Elna the answer is yes. I was a little suspicious of her claims as well so I looked more into her. She is actually an writer for the Huffington Post, OptinMonster, Blogging Wizard, Pagewiz and other places. I looked into this and you can find her author profile on these sites and read some of the things shes written.

So she is legit and this is a big deal. Knowing the person (or people) behind the programs and courses you take is a big deal.

What You Get

When you buy this course you get access to a lot. You get a total of 54 lessons that are broken down into 7 modules. You will also get pitch templates, tech training videos, and one thing that I really see as important is the fact that you get access to the private Facebook group where you can interact with other members that have the same mindset and goal as you.

In this course you are provided with a “blueprint” if you want to call it that. Elna goes through each step that you should take, based on her experience, to eventually get you to land those high paying freelance writing gigs.

There is plenty of opportunity out there for freelance writers and this course does a good job at showing you how you can find these opportunities. In addition to finding them, you are also provided with “pitch templates” that you can use in order to get these clients.

Overall I like what I see here. This course is what I would call “complete” and does a good job at getting you from point A (no writing job) to point B (having a writing job). It has a lot of in-depth info and is pretty good.

Is It Worth Taking?

If you really desire to go the route of freelance writing then this is one of the better courses out there for sure. The price might change over time but as I write this it is listed at $165 if you pay a one-time charge or you can choose to pay 3 charges of $65.

With the training you get, the Facebook group access, and the templates I would say it is worth the price. Its not an outrageous cost by any means and I think the value you are getting here is a lot.

Conclusion On Write Your Way To 1K

Overall I like what I see with this program and this is something I would recommend that you consider if you are looking to become a freelance writer. It is definitely a good and legit course that has worked for others. Now of course whether you succeed with it or not is largely dependent on the action that you take, but that is a whole other story.

Something else that I would recommend is taking a look at how I make a living online. I make small blog-type websites like this and 99% of what I do consists of writing. It would be right up your alley and I think you might like it.

I’ve been doing this since 2015 and really enjoy it. If you are interested in learning more you can read a post I wrote Here where I go over what exactly I do, how it all works, and how people with no experience can get started doing the same.

Is Barefoot Writer a Scam? – What To Be Aware Of

The-Barefoot-WriterIf you are looking to make money as a freelance writer online and wondering if Barefoot Writer is the key to your success, hear me out first. This program is really oversold from what I have seen on one of its sales pages. Some people that buy into it I’m sure are very disappointed due to some of the misleading information being used to sell it.

Is Barefoot Writer a scam? I wouldn’t go quite that far. Its not an absolutely horrible membership club but its not anything special either. I know that they claim to have the “secret formula” (they did in the sales page I read, but there is no secret formula and becoming a successful writer with this program isn’t going to be a walk in the park.

Barefoot Writer Club Overview

When you buy a membership for Barefoot Writer the goal is for you to become a freelance copywriter, and this club will help you get there. Once on the inside you will have access to some training, advice, lectures, and will be able to communicate with other members of the club that are looking to do the same thing as you. You will also get a monthly copy of the Barefoot Writer magazine which will give you advice, profile copywriters, and help motivate you.

The Barefoot Writer Club was founded by American Writers & Artists Institute (AWAI). This club is for people who want to live a “freedom lifestyle” and be able to work from anywhere at anytime. One of the many benefits to being a freelance writer is that you can work from virtually anywhere.

But the big questions is “Will The Barefoot Writer Club help you get there?”. The sales page that I read was seriously overhyped and came off as very “scammy” so it made me a little suspicious of its bold claims. After doing research and looking more into this exclusive club I was able to find that there are some things they aren’t telling you upfront.

One Thing You NEED To Know

The Barefoot Writer Club is by no means an “all-inclusive” ticket to getting to your end destination, which is becoming a freelance copywriter. A lot of what they provide is good,.. there is some good lecture videos and good training, but its not a complete package.

When you become a member you will be given “opportunities” to learn more, get more training, and so on. These opportunities are really just other programs that they are upselling you on and can cost a lot of money.

With the Barefoot Writer Club being somewhat incomplete this will leave more to be desired and you will feel inclined to purchase more..

Much of the information being given to you when you are a member of the club is motivational. The magazine for example, it is full of motivational stories and profiles of other copywriters that are living the dream. Motivational material is great and all but to me it seems like the real motivation here might be to get members to buy more of the upsells they are pushing.

Is Barefoot Writer a Scam?

As I said in the beginning, I wouldn’t call this place a scam I would just say that its not the great amazing place that it seems to be when you read through some of the sales pages that are out there promoting it.

But all in all its nothing bad. You will get value with the membership you buy. My problem is just with the upsells that they push you on. They should make it more apparent in the beginning before you buy into it what you are getting and what all it includes. This is the reason for the majority of complaints I see about this place.

The Barefoot Writer Club Conclusion

The Barefoot Writer Club isn’t a place I would go out of my way to recommend but its also not a place I am going to tell you to stay away from. I just want people to know what they are getting themselves into before they buy a membership.

You should also know that there are a lot of other freelance writing opportunities out there. Freelance marketplaces like Upwork can be good opportunities for some.

Alternatively, you could make money writing for yourself, which is what I do. I set up my own small blog-style websites and 99% of what I do is writing. I make a living doing this and really enjoy it.

Anyway…. that’s all I have for you here. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. If you have any questions leave them below in the comment section 🙂
