Wondering is IDlife a scam? I know there is a bit of controversy surrounding this business and I have been getting some questions regarding its legitimacy so I want to clear a few things up here. I’m guessing you were probably asked to join this business from someone already in it but you are hesitant to join. Or maybe you are looking into this for a friend or family member.
Am I write? Well anyway, it doesn’t really matter the reason. In this short review I’ll be talking about what this places is, how you make money, the reality of this business, and ultimately whether or not I consider it to be a scam.
IDlife Overview
IDlife is a mlm company that sells health products that are non-GMO, soy-free, gluten-free, and hormone free, which follow recent health trends. They sell a range of products from skin care, to workout, to sleep products and more. The products seem good to me, but these aren’t what I want to talk about here. What I want to talk about is the business opportunity that IDlife offers.
IDlife is a direct sales business. This means that they use independent distributors, which can be anyone, to market their products. They do not sell in stores. This business has what you call a multi-level marketing (mlm) compensation structure meaning that there is a lot of incentive to recruit new distributors because you can make money from it.
Cost to Join
In order to get started you first need to purchase an enrollment kit. They have a free Starter Kit that you can choose if you wish that will give you a website to sell IDlife products on along with some other online marketing materials.
But if you are serious about this then you are probably going to be inclined to purchase on of the bigger enrollment kits that include the Starter Kit along with a bunch of products for you to sell. These are designed as a way to get your business up and running as quick as possible.
They range in price from $299 to $1,199.99.
The Compensation Plan
Getting paid is about 2 things, selling products yourself and recruiting in new distributors which you can make money off of.
Retail Sales
How it works is you will be buying products from IDlife at wholesale prices and then selling them at a markup. You will be able to get 30% commissions on these sales. If you sell through your website then you don’t actually have to hand the product to the person, it will be shipped to them.
Recruitment
Recruitment is a key factor in mlm’s like this. All the big earners have one thing in common… they recruit a lot and have big downlines.
There are several ways that you can earn money from recruiting others in but I’m going to cover just 2 of them that will basically give you an idea of how it all works.
1) Business Builder Bonus
You get this bonus right away for each person that you recruit in and get to buy the one $399 Enrollment Kit that they offer. This is the enrollment kit that they really push you to get. You will get $100 for each person you get to buy this.
2) Residual Income
Here you can make money from a uni-level structure. When you recruit someone into the business they go beneath you on your level 1. If those people then recruit people into the business they go beneath them on your level 2. This goes down 10 levels and there can be an infinite number of people at each level.
As you can see on the chart below, you will earn commissions from these levels beneath you based on your rank.
The Reality Here
The reality of this business, and many other mlm’s, is that recruitment is a must if you want to make good money. If you want to climb the ranks and unlock the entire compensation plan then you literally have to recruit, there is no other option.
The problem with this is that the large majority of people will fail to make good money. In order to make good money you need to climb this pyramid-like mlm structure, build your downline and earn commissions from the work they do.
The top few percent will make the majority of the money here. I wasn’t able to find an official income disclosure by IDLife to prove this but I have reviewed enough mlm’s (Nucerity International and Organo Gold recently) to know that with a comp plan like this it is how it is.
Conclusion on ID Life – Scam?
This place is not a scam. They do sell legitimate products and although recruitment is a big part of the business they do stay away from the pyramid scheme side of things by also placing emphasis on selling products to the general public.
However, I don’t necessarily recommend that you join this. I would say to join at your own risk. You know the reality of it because I just told you. So if you think its a good business to get into then go for it. Just know that much of what you hear is misleading because it is coming from distributors that are trying to recruit you in order to make money off of you.
